"I know that I don't have to roll out of bed in pain, which I was doing prior to CFK."
In 2014 I took a trip to Bryce, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Park to go hiking with my good friend Crystal. For two months prior I started exercising to get in better shape but it was the toughest trip that I have ever taken. I was frustrated that my cardio just wasn’t there. I did all of the hiking and activity but I was last all but one day and it really was disapointing for me even though it was a beautiful, great trip.
My friend Crystal was already doing CrossFit so she asked me if I was interested in trying. I had fears and doubts because I had heard her stories of flipping tires and lifting weights and I didn’t want to look like a body builder. Since then I have learned that strength training is a critical part of building overalle health.
I took a hike to house mountian a few weeks ago and I can tell a great difference in how I could climb the mountain. I wasn’t feeling winded and was strong enough to make it up the mountain despite having a torn meniscus. CrossFit has also helped me know that I won’t have to roll out of bed in pain. I also learned I had sleep apnea from CrossFit because here recovery is a priority. I love the CFK community. I’ve really enjoyed this journey. The coaches meet you where you are and don’t make you worried about competing with others but improving myself.
