- CrossFit Gymnastics Course
A lifelong athlete, health and fitness has always been a part of life for Alex. Growing up a gymnast, she developed strength and body awareness that helped her transition to field hockey, where she played at the collegiate level for 4 years at Randolph-Macon College.
In graduate school, Alex found CrossFit. The community and sport had such a profound impact on her, she made the shift to full time coaching, knowing it was what she was meant to do.
“From that moment on I knew I wanted CrossFit to be my life so that I could help and teach as many people as possible.”
Alex thrives on helping others achieve things they didn’t know were possible.
“The greatest joy I have as a coach is when I tell an athlete they are capable. Whether that means capable of doing CrossFit, getting their first pull up, or handstand walking. They look at me like I’m crazy, but they are eventually able to accomplish those goals and are utterly amazed that they could accomplish what they saw as something they would never be able to do. If I can show people that they are far more capable than they believe themselves to be, then I am doing my job as a coach.”
When Alex isn’t in the gym, you can usually find her hanging out lakeside. And, if you catch her in the right mood, you might get hit with Shakespeare quote!
